Privacy Policy

Last Updated: August 10, 2026

Purely Dating, LLC (“Purely Dating,” “Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates Rawn, an anonymous, chat-first dating application (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard personal information when you use Rawn or rawnapp.com (together, the “Service”), and describes the choices and rights available to you.

By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information necessary to provide a safe, functional, location-based dating experience built around Rawn’s anonymous-first format.

A. Information You Provide

  • Account Information: Name, email address, and profile photo when you sign up via Apple or Google.
  • Phone Number: Collected when you sign up or log in using your phone number, and used for SMS verification to prevent bots, fraud, and ban evasion.
  • Profile Information: Gender, dating preferences, interests, and any photos or voice content you choose to add, including content that remains hidden from other users until an Unmask.
  • Masquerade and Rendezvous Content: Messages exchanged during an anonymous Masquerade session, and details you provide when proposing or accepting a Rendezvous. A Rendezvous location must be a business or public venue selected from within the App; the App does not allow entry of geographic coordinates or a residential address.

B. Location Information

Precise Geolocation Data: With your explicit permission, we collect real-time GPS location to calculate distance and show you nearby matches. Location access is required for core Service functionality. We do not display your exact location, GPS coordinates, or the distance between you and another user to anyone, only a general, city-level location is ever shown on a profile.

C. Usage and Technical Data

  • Usage Data: Interactions such as Masquerade sessions, matches, Unmasks, Rendezvous proposals, messages, and other in-app activity.
  • Device & Log Data: Device identifiers, operating system, and diagnostic logs for security, analytics, and performance monitoring.

D. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Rawnapp.com and the App use cookies, SDKs, and similar tracking technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, measure performance, and, where you have not opted out, support analytics and advertising. We do not respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals, but we do honor recognized opt-out preference signals (such as Global Privacy Control) as described in Section 9. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may limit some Service functionality.

2. Sensitive Personal Information

Several categories of data we collect are treated as “sensitive” or “special” under applicable law, including precise geolocation and information revealing sexual orientation or dating preferences. We only process this data as necessary to operate the Service (for example, to show you nearby, compatible matches) or with your consent, and, for residents of states that require it, including Texas, we obtain opt-in consent before processing sensitive data for purposes beyond providing the Service you asked for.

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, contact us using the details in Section 12 before using the Service; Rawn is currently operated for users located in the United States, and this Policy is not designed around EEA/UK/Swiss legal bases for processing.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • Create and manage your account
  • Facilitate Masquerade sessions and connect you with nearby, compatible users
  • Support the Unmask and Rendezvous features
  • Prevent fraud, abuse, and policy violations
  • Conduct Trust & Safety review and content moderation
  • Communicate important account or safety notices
  • Improve Service performance, reliability, and user experience

We do not sell your personal data.

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

A. With Other Users

During a Masquerade session, your matched user sees only what the Masquerade format reveals. If you both choose to Unmask, your profile information becomes visible to that user within the App, including your general, city-level location. We never display your exact location, GPS coordinates, or the distance between you and another user, distance is used only internally to power matching.

B. With Service Providers

We work with trusted vendors acting as data processors, including SMS verification providers, cloud hosting and infrastructure providers, and analytics and monitoring services. These providers may access data only to perform services on our behalf and are contractually obligated to protect it.

C. Legal and Safety Disclosures

We may disclose information if required to comply with legal obligations, enforce our Terms of Service, or protect the safety, rights, or property of users or the Company.

5. Location Controls

You may disable location services at any time through your device settings. Because Rawn is a location-based service, disabling location access will place the App in a limited state, preventing discovery of and interaction with new profiles until location services are re-enabled.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time through the App settings.

Retention Schedule

Upon deletion, profile data and visibility are removed promptly, and active messages and matches are removed from active systems. We retain limited categories of data beyond deletion only as described below:

  • Phone number and device identifiers: retained for 1 year after account deletion, to prevent repeat abuse and ban evasion.
  • Moderation and Trust & Safety records: retained for up to 1 year after the underlying report is resolved, or longer if needed for an active investigation or legal hold.
  • Transaction and billing records: retained as required by applicable tax and accounting law (generally several years).
  • Traffic and security logs: retained for 1 year for security and abuse-prevention purposes.
  • Records of consent: retained for as long as needed to demonstrate compliance with applicable privacy law.

7. Protection of Minors

Rawn is intended only for individuals 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If we become aware that a minor has created an account, we will immediately terminate the account and delete associated data. If we remove a Profile for this reason, we may retain the associated IP address to prevent circumvention of this rule through a new account.

8. Colorado Users

If you are a Colorado resident, please also review our Online Dating Services Safety Policy, a separate document required by the Colorado Online Dating Services Safety Act (C.R.S. § 6-1-731.5), linked from the App’s settings screen.

9. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or limit the processing of your personal data, to receive your data in a portable format, and to opt out of certain processing. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)

We do not sell or share (as “sharing” is defined under the CCPA, including for cross-context behavioral advertising) your personal information. California residents may exercise the rights above, including the right to limit use of Sensitive Personal Information, by contacting us as described in Section 12.

Texas Residents (TDPSA)

Texas residents may exercise the rights above under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act. We recognize opt-out preference signals, including Global Privacy Control, as an opt-out of the processing of personal data for targeted advertising or sale. If we deny a privacy request, you may appeal by contacting us as described in Section 12; if you disagree with the outcome of an appeal, you may contact the Texas Attorney General.

Other States

Residents of other states with comprehensive privacy laws (including but not limited to Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Oregon, and Montana) have similar rights under those laws and may exercise them using the contact information in Section 12.

How to Exercise Your Rights

Contact us using the information in Section 12. We will take reasonable steps to verify your identity before responding and will respond within the time required by applicable law.

10. Security

We implement industry-standard technical and organizational safeguards, including encryption of data in transit and at rest. While we take reasonable measures to protect your information, no system can guarantee absolute security.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Material changes will be communicated through the App, and the “Last Updated” date will be revised accordingly.
